This seems kinda weird to me. First, drinking and sending work emails is probably not a great idea (I, for one, would probably lose some tact). Second, why would you want to bother going out to a bar just to be anti-social and spend more money on beer than you would if you were to buy a six-pack and drink at home? Maybe I'm just being too pessimistic to see the upside to this.....
