MUSIC
Check out the Viper Room’s Sunday night music special, Free Form Orchestra, free with RSVP. Original music created by some of L.A.’s finest young emerging talent, these guys and girls will really blow you away with their jazz-funk beats.

8:30 p.m. // Viper Room // 8852 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles // (310) 358-1881 // Free

ART
The Pasadena Museum of California Art opens their new Gold Medal Juried Exhibition for the 97th Annual California Art Club today. Included in the exhibit are over 25 sculptors, 144 paintings, and 184 artists, from a range of genres.

12 p.m. // Pasadena Museum of California Art // 490 East Union St, Pasadena // (626) 568-3665 // $6

FILM
It’s Mystery Night at the Steve Allen theatre, and they are appropriately showing The Incredible Shrinking Man. Get your fill of the classic sci-fi movie before they release the “updated” version starring Eddie Murphy in a few years. I couldn’t make that up if I wanted to.

9 p.m. // Steve Allen Theater // 4773 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles // $5

MUSIC
Sundays Live is back this week at LACMA with The Colburn Chamber Orchestra and Neal Stulberg. Their classical repertoire will include pieces from Mozart, Bernard Hermann, and Gershwin.

6 p.m. // LACMA Bing Theater // 5905 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles // (323) 857-6000 // $12
