Redwood Bar & Grill: Now Open For Brunch!

Redwood Bar & Grill now open for Breakfast/Brunch in Downtown Los Angeles LAist absolutely loves the Redwood Bar & Grill, a pirate-themed hangout close to Disney Hall and the Civic Center downtown -- not only is it a lovely place to wander into on a cold and lonely winter night, but it serves our Editor's Choice for Best Mac N' Cheese in the city. I know, right! So you'll be thrilled to hear that the Redwood is now open for brunch!

Beginning this weekend from 11am to 2pm (Saturdays and Sundays only), the Redwood will be serving up a concise but diverse menu of hearty breakfast treats. There's no menu up on the website just yet, but rumor has it you'll be in for some tasty takes on steak & eggs, French toast, and omelets -- and there will definitely be vegetarian-friendly items available as well.

They're beginning this weekend with a Mother's Day charity bash: it's called the Rock Your Mama Benefit for House of Ruth, a shelter for homeless and battered women and their children. $5 suggested donation at the door will get you drink ticket for one free beer or $2 off a cocktail; brunch starts at 11am and they're offering happy hour prices all day long. Plus, there's a whole musical extravaganza planned, beginning at 12pm. Performers include: Mike Stinson, Mario Matteoli, Jake La Botz, Dave Gleason and Ole Californio, and Champagne Velvet. More info at their Myspace page.
