Sure the street sweeping is a major source of income for the city. Similarly parking an illegal parking is the major source of income for State Beaches and State Parks. Just watch 10 motorists get 10 tickets in 1 hour this past August: Pay Anoying Parking Ticket Blog

its always us that has to pay for their poor managing skills...how about we take it out of their salaries? then they might want to be a little more accountable/conscious for where and how they spend their money...like free helicopter rides. i know, i know, never gonna happen.

No surprise there. The city will also step up enforcement of very petty, and obscure, rules and regulations, on small businesses, and hit as many of them as they can with fines and penalties. SOP for a budget crisis year.

I agree, it's one of the best aspects of bike commuting: free and close to wherever you are parking.
