<p>"Why does Downtown, a blossoming center for art, food and culture currently lack the wine experience? Is anyone else thirsty for this particular scene to arrive?"

Actually, a resturant just opened at 7th and Grand last week that might fit the bill. I talked to the owner of "The Seven", (sorry no website yet), while they were redoing the inside. He spent a bundle on a temprature controlled wine storage area. (I think he said around $25K.)

I figure if he spent that much on where he stores wine, then he's likely going to stock some pretty good wines.

I haven't been yet. A bit too pricey for me, but it might be worth some LAist checking it out and doing a reveiw.</p>
