btw, what's the correct pronunciation for Chick-fil-a? Being born and raised in LA, i'm not too familiar with the chain and have heard it pronounced "chick-fill-UH" and recently "chick-fill-A" (as in "filet", which makes more sense than "fill uh")... ?

I have been a huge fan of Chik-fil-a since I first discovered them when I lived in Florida years ago. With that said, the new McDonald's Southern Style Chicken sandwich is an exceptionally close imitator. I'd give Chik-fil-a an "A" and McDonald's a solid "A-" for their effort. Plus, McDonald's is not "religious" like Chick-fil-a. They are open on Sundays and you can enjoy your sandwich without the piped in Christian music that is featured at all non-mall Chick-fil-a outlets. I'm also not convinced the person who wrote this review is being honest. First, their description of the product does not pan out. I've eaten several of these sandwiches at the McDonald's near LaBrea and Santa Monica and they are exceptionally juicy. This is the first time the fast food giant has made a chicken sandwich worth talking about. Second, McDonalds did away with the warmer trays several years ago. Sandwiches don't "sit around" wating to be ordered any more. The entire back-end of the operation was reconfigured so that all food at McDonalds is made to order. Neither chain offers a "fresh" chicken breast sandwich. Both are frozen and then cooked on site. Perhaps blind devotion to Chick-fil-a necessitated fudging the facts. Finally, to the person (FALLINGLEAVES12) who claims in their comments to have tried this sandwich "awhile back," you are mistaken. You posted your comment on 5/8. McDonald's did not launch the sandwich nationwide until 5/5. Unless you lived in the Atlanta test market, you are talking about a different sandwich. Same goes for your JEREMY7, the timing of your post (5/6) does not match the claims you make based on the 5/5 launch date of the product here in Los Angeles. Get your facts straight or come up with lies that are harder to de-bunk.

They look ok, but my experience with McD's chicken is not too good. Encouraging to have a chicken option for breakfast though.

Ugh. I tried the McDonald's sandwich a while back. Thought to myself ... hmm, I like the McChicken sandwich. Wonder what this one will be like. It was the grossest thing I've ever tried.

Ali, the closest Sonic is: 1632 LEMON STREET ANAHEIM, CA 92801 (714) 992-4500 For a long time I believed that Sonic did not exist then I went to one in Arizona a few months back. It was actually quite good. Not good enough to drive to Anaheim though.

The lunch/dinner sandwiches notwithstanding, Chick-Fil-A crushes McDonalds with the breakfast chicken biscuits. I've gotten fresh-from-the-fryer McD's, and it's still tough and dry compared to C-F-A.

Arby's has a similar sandwich (smaller though). It's closer to the Chik-Fil-A sandwich than the McDonald's version.

Really? I have to respectfully disagree. I ate about 8 of these bad boys last week, and I feel like they are a gift from God. To me they are exactly Chik-Fil-A, and you can get them on Sunday. I spent most of my life in Florida, where Chik-Fil-A's are everywhere, so I like to think I'm a decent judge. Perhaps it was the absence of waffle fries that foiled your taste buds? Regardless, I am very happy because that South Bay Chik-Fil-A has always been out of reach for me, but now it's like I have one down the block. McDonalds, I love you.
