DVD Tuesday: How does it feel?

I wasn't completely sold on the idea of having so many different actors portray Bob Dylan in I'm Out There. I certainly respect the audacious choice by director Todd Haynes, but I think I admired the film more than I actually liked it. It's definitely worth a rental, though, if only to see three of our finest actors (Bale, Ledger, Blanchett) truly stretch. Teeth could have easily turned into an overly jokey mess. Credit star Jess Weixler for keeping the film firmly grounded. How do two fine actors like Hilary Swank and Gerard Butler end up in sappy crap like P.S. I Love You? Boo! Eva Longoria in Over Her Dead Body makes much more sense.

To all you Red Sox fans in Los Angeles who don't already know: there is no better place to watch a Sox game than Sonny McLean's on Wilshire and 26th. Join me there on many nights over the summer. We'll talk about the greatest moments in Red Sox history (or you can just buy the DVD). Speed Racer opens in less than a week so let the crappy ancillary product piggybacking begin! Neo Ned spent a few weeks in theaters back in 2006. It finally arrives on DVD and is worth a look. Senior Skip Day, on the other hand, is not.

God, I hated "I'm Not There." Absolute torture. And I'm a huge Dylan and Haynes fan.

Sappy Crap my arse! P.S. I Love You is a wonderful movie. It makes one laugh and cry. I absolutely loved it and everyone I know loved it as well. Gerard Butler is a fantastic actor and did very well with Hilary Swank.

RoxanneDanielle--if you absolutely loved P.S. I Love You then you will have a heart attack when you see the infinitely superior Truly, Madly, Deeply.
