Midnight Movie: 'Little Girl'

"Little Girl" by Robert Francis

As the local indie folk-rock musician Robert Francis laid down tracks for his sophomore album, he released a new video a couple weeks ago from his debut record, One By One. Francis, whose sister is Juliette Commagere of Hello Stranger, was given his first guitar at age nine by Ry Cooder and taught to play by Red Hot Chili Peppers' John Frusciante.

Francis was featured on NPR's Day to Day last October -- it begins with: "Teen angst can be pretty tedious, unless you're a singer-songwriter with some actual talent." He was nineteen back then when he released his first album, which he says is a product of an "emotional turmoil he suffered after a failed relationship."
