This Month in Comedy
Comedy-rich LA has a lot to choose from. Here are some highlights for the month of May:
[While I'd like to tell you what's happening at the Laugh Factory, I can't since the calendar part of their website hasn't been working for at least a week.]
May 4th (TONIGHT) @ 7:30pm - Janeane Garofolo @ the Hollywood Improv
May 4th (TONIGHT) - Tommy Chong & Shelby @ the Brea Improv - Do you think there will be any jokes about getting stoned?
May 7th - The Maron/Proops Experiment (with the excellent Greg Proops as interviewed by LAist) @ Upright Citizen's Brigade Theater
May 9th - The Kids in the Hall @ The Orpheum! [Thanks Ben!]
May 9th & 10th - Bob Saget whom LAist interviewed and reviewed his excellent show @ the Brea Improv - This is a great chance to see Saget's act up close, don't miss it!
May 10th - Sketch Cram with Human Giant's Rob Heubel @ Upright Citizen's Brigade Theater
May 11, 18, and 25 - Russell Brand @ the Roxy. This Brit, who starred as Aldous Snow in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, puts on a great show [thanks for the suggestion!]
Wednesdays @10pm - CollegeHumor.com's Comedy Juice @ the Hollywood Improv
Fridays - Richard Villa @ the Hollywood Improv
Sundays (Including TONIGHT) - Jeff Garlin @ Upright Citizens' Brigade Theater
Don't forget to check out The Comedy Store and The Groundlings - always cool stuff happening!
[If you know of other comedy happenings of note - please post a comment!]

Nice roundup, but you left out the best thing happenin' this month! The Kids in the Hall are playing the Orpheum on May 9.
Thanks Ben! [Post Updated]
May 11, 18, and 25 Russell Brand at the Roxy. This Brit, who starred as Aldous Snow in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, puts on a fantastic stand-up show. His unflinching observational comedy is equal parts mellifluous erudition and no-holds-barred smut. Check him out, you won't be disappointed.
this is a great list. i've seen bob saget live before. very very worth going! he leaves his Full House innocence at the door!
but i have to say, there are a LOT more things happening in LA comedy-wise. i know cuz i work at goldstar. in fact, 43 comedy events at the moment. like the Downtown Comedy Club and the Ice House, Promenade Playhouse, Groundlings, Comedy Store...
thanks JoleeL - I will update
hppygomarni - thanks very much for your commments. This list is not an attempt to enumerate every single comedy event in the fair city of Los Angeles, we're just tipping people off to select events. I thought I had put a link to the Groundlings in there and the Comedy Store but (I usually do). Thanks again!
@tomlewis i know i know. :-) and the list is great. i guess I just like to see some of the lesser known places listed too, cuz LA has SO much comedy around beyond the Improv. nice to meet you!
