This event reminds us of those old-time dance marathons, but this time it’s USC’s Thornton School students testing their endurance by playing seven hours of nonstop chamber music a night. Tonight’s the last night of the Chamber Music Marathon.

MUSIC DOCUMENTARY*

There’s a double feature at the Academy’s Linwood Dunn Theater of documentaries. The U.S. vs. John Lennon captures a time in American history when a president and the U.S. government (wasted their time and our money) to “wage a covert war against the world’s most popular musician.” Following is Leonard Cohen I’m Your Man, that celebrates the life and work of the talented songwriter. His “Hallelujah” gets to me every time.

DOCUMENTARY
AFI’s holding its 7th annual Music Documentary Series and tonight it screens Cachao: Uno Mas -- a portrait of Afro-Cuban musician Israel Lopez ("Cachao"). The 68-minute documentary will be followed by a Q&A with producer Andy Garcia.

THEATRE
Park Your Car in Harvard Yard (translation for Beantown natives: “Pahk yer cahr where the Tasty ustah be”) is Israel Horovitz’s tour de force for two actors. An aging teacher – who was a meanest sonofabitch that ever taught at Gloucester High – hires a housekeeper. But the old guy doesn’t remember that he basically flunked her and her entire family. He’s a crotchety Harvard-educated Jewish bachelor with no family; she’s vindictive with a large working class Irish family. But somehow they reach a détente. Low-priced previews continue tonight.
