Largo, one of our favorite little clubs in the city, is closing on Fairfax. But don’t cry just yet because it will reopen in a bigger space on La Cienega in a few months. But the last shows on Fairfax, like tonight’s Greg Proops Chat show, are sure to be memorable and full of surprises. Music will be provided by Jon Brion and guests include Flight of the Conchords.

The Ottawa International Animation Festival is the largest animation showcase in North America and one of the most highly regarded festivals in the world. Now in its 32nd year, the festival screens some of its best work at REDCAT tonight.

CLASSICAL
The Southwest Chamber Music Concert holds its final concert of the season tonight, celebrating the works of 20th century composers Charles Ives and Gustav Mahler. On the program are Charles Ives’ “Children’s Day at the Camp Meeting,” Franz Schubert’s “The Shepherd on the Rock” and Gustav Mahler’s “Symphony No. 4 in G major (arr. Stein). There’s a Prelude Talk at 7:30 pm.

FILM
The Academy celebrates films that were nominated for Oscars, but never won. Tonight is Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction (1994), which received seven nominations, including Best Picture. There’s a post-film discussion with costume designer Betsy Heimann and executive producers Michael Shamberg, Stacey Sher and Richard N. Gladstein. Also included in each screening are animated and live action shorts, original trailers, outtakes and other surprises to offer up a snapshot of 1994.
