redmercury, yes, i know what the idea is. and it's still stupid. the fact in and of itself that they're trying to underhandedly shut down clubs or put laws into place that result in the women who work there making less money is insulting. it might be a double edged sword, but stripping is a job, and a legal one last time i checked - maybe the laws should focus on strengthening security so that drunken men who paw the dancers are held accountable for their actions instead of the women who are being pawed having to pay the price. literally.

i'm glad you had a nice chat with that dancer though. :)

"I maintain that the no alcohol in nudie bars law is the stupidest, most insulting idea to ever gain support in cities across the country."

Well, the idea is that they will make less money without the alcohol, so they won't set up shop in the first place.

Actually, I went to one of them one evening and was chatting with one of the dancers. She said it's double-edged sword. The advantage is that you don't have drunk guys pawing at you. The disadvantage is that you don't have drunk guys throwing down big tips.

Agreed! I had only been to 4Play before I went to the 7th Veil. But as soon as I got in there one of the girls accosted me and started badgering me about getting a lap dance before I was even finished getting my cash out of the ATM. The girls on stage were bore-city (as opposed to boner-city). We stayed for about 10 minutes and got out of there...then we got mugged by some kids in front of Hollywood High School...so maybe the strippers weren't that bad after all.
