Tonight in Rock: It's All About Ukraine... and TV

Swell Season

Tonight's line up at the Ukrainian Cultural Center on Melrose is a good one. Two of the bands playing tonight have been reviewed (audio samples included) by Tom Lewis here on LAist. Check out Death Set's and No Age's new albums. Yet to be reviewed, Yeasayer also completes the bill.

Since Largo on Fairfax is closing on Fairfax, shows featuring Jon Brion and other regulars are soon coming to a halt until their new space officially opens. Catch the classic space while you can.

And set your TIVOs or try to get in (good luck) to Jay Leno or Jimmy Kimmel tonight, who both host Prince and the Swell Season, respectively.

Friday
Yeasayer, Le Face, NASA Space Universe, Duke Nukem Forever, Fail! @ The Smell
Mudcruth featuring Tom Petty, Tom Leadon, Randall Marsh, Mike Campbell, Benmont Tench @ Troubadour
No Age, Yeasayer, The Death Set, Free Blood @ Ukrainian Cultural Center
Landon Pigg @ Hotel Cafe
Jon Brion @ Largo

On TV
Prince @ Jay Leno
Black Crowes @ David Letterman
Swell Season @ Jimmy Kimmel
