NoHo Arts District gets its Vegan Restaurant Too

The block on Vineland between Otsego and Hesby is turning into a nice eclectic group of storefronts, even if there are only three. Starting to the north, there is a random Pirate store. Next to that, a fairly new hookah lounge. And then there is Lotus Vegan, which opened last week with a chef from Vegan Express who decided to go on her own. You'll recognize the menu as it is similar too all those staple vegan Thai restaurants around town, but it's good to know the NoHo Arts District gets one too.

The menu is large and goes beyond Asian fare, featuring breakfast burritos and pancakes, warps, veggie burgers and even a quesadilla. There is nothing over $8.00 except for dinner specials.

It use to be a Thai restaurant called Little Chili Thai Cuisine. I had take out from there a month ago then a week later this opened. Kinda sucks when you find an awesome restaurant then poof its gone...

But this one is awesome too Tristen! I took two meat eaters there yesterday and they loved it. Especially the pancakes.

That's great news! But, uh, what about this Pirate store? Are we talkin eye patches and swash buckles, or DVDs of Baby Mama?

But I'm allergic to vegan food...

I see, Tristen has scurvy just like many Pirates.

Very nice. Thanks for the link, Zach. Understanding has brought me peace...and scantly clad gypsies.

HEY CODY shouldn't you be keeping those phones busy? HUH HUH HUH?

Zach! Proofread, proofread, proofread!

You said its on Cahuenga and Otsego?

Zach obviously was suffering from vegan "chicken" withdrawals and goofed on the streets in the intro. It is indeed on Vineland between Otsego and Hesby in NoHo Arts. And those pancakes were awesome.

those pancakes do look awesome

I tried visiting the pirate store after my awesome meal at Lotus Vegan (mid-afternoon, mid-week) but they were closed. Lots of "SALE!!!" signs in the window made it look to me like the place was about to go out of business or was already gone. I could see what looked like at least a weeks worth of mail on the floor inside that had been dropped through the mail slot.

Hey, thats sort of near that "Healthica" place. My wife will now have two vegan options.

And "Kansas City Barbecue" is opening on Magnolia at Vineland.

Double score.

Just ate there today. Decent food and the price was pretty good too. Thanks for the tip!
