March for Babies at Griffith Park

The annual March of Dimes March for Babies will be held this Saturday at Griffith Park. Supporters will be walking 5.5 miles in support of the efforts of an organization that has been the leader in helping to prevent birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. It’s a great way to get out and support a worthy cause, and it’s not a bad way to get some much needed exercise as we approach bathing suit season, which is ten months out of the year here.

Donations can be given on their website by giving to or joining a team, or simply show up on Saturday morning, preferably less hung over than usual. There are donation incentives ranging from a free t-shirt to tickets to Europe. C’est bon!

Here’s the scoop. The walk is at 8am, but registration begins at 7am at 4730 Crystal Springs Dr. in Griffith Park. If you just can’t pull yourself off your coworker’s kitchen floor but still want to help the kids, you can always send your hard earned coinage to:
