Female Bank Robbers Make Up FBI List

starlet_bandit.jpgNoticing an increase in female involvement in bank robberies (remember Weathergirl?), the FBI has released a list of the top five female bank robbers in the Southern California area. Three of them get their own moniker, via KNBC:

The "Starlet Bandit" [seen to the right] robbed a Bank of America, located at 7800 W. Sunset Blvd. on March 25.

May said the name was given because of the woman's glamorous appearance and large sunglasses.

May described the "Female Truck Driver Bandit" as an older, white woman with a stocky build. She was seen in a small, black, Mazda- or Nissan-style pickup truck with an Oregon license plate.

The "Will Kill Bandit" robbed multiple banks in the Lancaster and Palmdale areas. May said the FBI has been searching for this woman for about 18 months.

Special Agent Steve May, the FBI's Bank Robbery Coordinator in Los Angeles, is in charge of naming all the bandits, but hasn't gotten to them all yet. The two other women who round out the list are a woman in her 60s who robbed a bank in Chino and a female capper who robbed the U.S. Bank at 400 Santa Monica Blvd. last November.
