LAst Night's Action: Dodgers See Red

Dodgers Jubilee

LA Dodgers (8-11) defeat Cincinnati Reds (8-12) 9-3. After being held down to three runs and 17 hits in their weekend series against the Braves, the Dodgers vented all their frustration on the Dusty Baker managed Reds. All but one Dodgers starter notched a hit (take a wild guess who), and Brad Penny (3-2) pitched a brilliant six innings giving up six hits and one run. Chan Ho Park came in relief in the seventh and pitched a three-inning save. And Nomar Garciaparra popped up in the game - popped up to the left center seats. It's his first homer since humans became bipedal. (If you couldn't guess, it was Andruw Jones).

Notable Notes

Manu Ginobli of the San Antonio Spurs won the NBA's Sixth Man award. Ginobli scored 19.5 points per game along with 4.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists. Last year's winner Leandro Barbosa of the Phoenix Suns came in second and the Laker's Jordan Farmar was tied for 11th.

It's a slow news day today, so here's a clip from yesterday's Lakers game.

Tonight's Action

LA Angels at Boston Red Sox. I messed up by putting this in yesterday's action. Sue me. 4:30 pm FSN West, AM 830 KLAA.
