Father's Office II in Culver City Opens Tonight*

Father's Office bartenders by Carrie Meathrell

Hey, there, beer fans! The word is out on the street, Father's Office II in Culver City finally opens its doors tonight! You heard me. Rumors say 5pm.

Our coverage of the preview party probably left you wanting more but starting tonight you get to see it for yourself, taste the gastropub fare goodness for yourself, choose from what looks to be a gazillion beers on tap and guzzle, I mean, savor, for yourself.

LAist news editor Andy Sternberg and I are heading over tonight to scope it out. Hopefully a three-times-larger space than the Santa Monica Father's Office means we don't have to wedge ourselves in.

Meet us there!

*UPDATE #2: The doors officially opened at 6:08 p.m. Bob the bartender is not on today but they do have Craftsman Carbernale!

*UPDATE #1: Take your time, there is a delayed opening tonight while unspecified equipment is repaired in the back of FO2. What this has to do with the beer that I can already taste I have no idea. Currently 15-20 people are waiting at the entrance (see photo), latest word is the doors may open by 6:30. Stay tuned!

Ooooo, I pass Helms Ave on my way home every day and just might have to stop and check it out! If you see a strange looking dude in an orange helmet on a bike around 6 p.m., ignore me -- I mean him.

Awww yeah. Helms Ave Monday night throwback. See ya there Will and whomever else.

The guy with the beard is Bob. Great bartender.

Bob the Bartender is great!!!! Hi Bob!

they both have beards.... ????

Bob is a former brewer for Craftsman Brewing Co so he has a good brew knowledge too.

Bob is the beardier of the two, on the left. And now I'm glad I asked him for a Craftsman!

oh i feel so unhip, i'm going to go tomorrow =(

man, i love crafstman beer, too.

but i don't love the idea of driving to culver city right now. sorry dudes... have a couple for me!

Hmm, apparently Andy's waiting outside their doors now and they're still not open. He's thinking it might be another 30 minutes or so. wtf?

We are currently waiting for FO2 to open -- there is an unspecified delay due to something being fixed inside. About 15 people wait outside. May be open by 6:30pm. (Post updated with photo above).

i just went and got back! i love it! i was out there waiting before it opened at 6p... when the doors finally swung open, everyone cheered! how cute! oh and i highly recommend the lemongrass curry mussels, and the FO martini.

yipppeeeee!

Went last night - our bartender was named Ryan and he was AWESOME! Knew a ton about the beer and kept us entertained without being overbearing. My boyfriend and I will def be back to see him and try some more new beers!

Of course, the eats and the atmosphere were great too....

Just went there yesterday..... sorry, but they didn't let me customize my burger (what if I don't want the caramelized onions?) & when I asked for ketchup for my fries, I got the snootiest look from someone who should never be giving snooty looks.

14.50 for a somewhat decent burger and fries? Sorry, I'm going to in n out and dropping 3.50 for a better burger.
