Maybe they can learn to fire heat-seeking weapons at us, or explode in front of a person matching their face-recognition system. But they will never be able to communicate with us or each other. They can't understand context, homonyms, or the difference between an "M" and an "N" or a "3" and a "C". I'm not too worried. If only the aliens would take over tech support, maybe I could stop shouting, "The lights on the modem are all blinking except for that one that never blinks!"
