Pencil This In: Wednesday

CABARET
Lucent Dossier brings its vaudeville/cabaret show to the Edison tonight. Who do they have in their talent roster? Little elves, fire dancers, belly dancers, trapeze artists, contortionists, jugglers, burlesque dancers, performance art and the bearded lady. So, really, you never know what to expect tonight.

Jazz and blues greats onscreen in Venice tonight.

Iranian authors Azar Nafisi (Reading Lolita in Tehran) and Marjane Satrapi Persepolis appear at Royce Hall tonight. The discussion will be moderated by culture journalist Alicia Anstead.

Here’s your chance to comment on Circle X’s upcoming season. Rare performance films of jazz and blues greats Bessie Smith, Howlin' Wolf, Billie Holiday, Louis Jordan, Big Mama Thornton, Son House, Anita O'Day, Mel Torme, Ella Fitzgerald and Fats Waller are screened as part of “Blues & Jazz Voices” in Venice. Come early because seating is extremely limited.

Come to a Creative Commons Salon tonight where local online content creators come together to share information and shoot the breeze.
