Botany500 - why are you reading it if it's that bad ? People who read this site like variation, and the phantom hitchhiker legend is popular the world over, and differs depending on cultural belief/fear. I'd hate to think how aggravated you'd be if your t.v. remote went missing!

The vanishing hitch-hiker is one of the creepiest of all urban legends. I like the version where he gallantly gives her his coat on a chilly night. The next day, he goes to the house to retrieve the jacket. A confused woman tells him that her daughter has been dead for years. To prove it to him, they walk to the daughter's grave, where he finds his coat hanging on the tombstone. I miss FATE magazine. Keep 'em coming!
