Padres at Dodger Stadium: The Sequel

You may or may not have read my tale of last night's disaster at Dodger Stadium (if you haven't, it's worth reading the comments because it completely dissolves into people talking about dicks in a bowl... huh?), but tonight I returned to Chavez Ravine for game two of the three game series against the Padres. I can't say that I wasn't worried, given the Dodgers' little five game losing streak and the absolute mess at the stadium last night. Fortunately my fears were unfounded and the Dodgers won 11-1.

Unfortunately for those of you looking for some amusement, I've got next to nothing. I only had beer spilled on me once, did not get hit by a single beach ball, and despite having an aisle seat, very rarely had my view blocked. I literally have nothing to bitch about. Which may make me feel great, but probably leaves you with just a little sense of empty.

Before we look at the photos taken with the makeshift lens, here are the highlights: I was on the Diamondvision big screen (yay!), Derek Lowe pitched 8 innings with one earned run and THREE RBIs; Andruw Jones actually didn't swing at everything within 12 feet and had two walks; Furcal, Ethier and Kemp all hit home runs; and DeWitt and Kemp made some fabulous fielding plays that are sure to make the web gems on Baseball Tonight. The kids in my section (and there were dozens) were extremely well-behaved, booing the Padres at appropriate moments and starting chants when the Dodgers were up. The Padres fans went home, sulking with their tails between their legs and we got to laugh at them. It was about 80 degrees throughout the game, with a perfect summer breeze making its way through the stands. This is Dodger baseball.

Okay, I'll be at the Laker Game tomorrow, so no malingering coverage until Monday... Hold down the fort for me.

all photos by malingering, whose lens should be back by Tuesday.
