Are Movie Theatres the New Post Offices for the Violence-Inclined?

InsideMovieTheaterSeats.jpgThe Pacific Beach Cities Stadium 16 movie theatre in El Segundo was the real-life scene of a police-involved shootout last night.

Two officers were wounded and the suspect was killed outside the theatres after they arrived on scene to "escort [him] out and he opened fire," reports the LA Times.

Following the shooting, fellow police officers "searched in and around the theater for companions of the gunman and took two men into custody at a nearby parking structure" who were eventually determined to have not been involved in the incident. Witnesses report that the actual shooting "started inside one of the theaters and continued outside." Both wounded officers were "taken to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and are said to be stable."

This is the second incident this year involving bloodshed initiated by movie-goers; in February someone watching the horror-flick The Signal in a Fullerton multiplex stabbed another patron.

Are you seriously proposing this theory, or is this some kind of joke or a slant just so that you can post this?

What theory? All the post describes is what happened, where it happened, and what movie was playing when it happened in Fullerton. BTW, I would love to know what picture was playing in El Segundo. My money is on something with Jennifer Aniston.

"Are Movie Theatres the New Post Offices for the Violence-Inclined?"

It wasn't inside the theater. The shooting was outside near the ticket booth

Growing up in Hermosa/Redondo I've been to that exact Pacific Theater many times since they built it , scary!
