This column is dedicated to all the broke folks out there because April is the cruelist month. If you own a house, property taxes are due about the same time as taxes (if you're one of the lucky ones who owe Uncle Sam a little somethin' somethin'). So this Friday edition of "Pencil This In" features events around LA today for under $10. Or better yet: Free.

“Match Game Live!” returns to the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre with guest panelists Aimee Mann, Jeff Garlin, Zach Galifianakis and Rob Corddry. The show’s based on the game show from the 1970s and audience members will have a chance to win cash and prizes. ***Advanced reservations are sold out, but there’s a stand-by line for the show.

A photo exhibit by Brent Stewart opens tonight in Beverly Hills. He took set pictures of the Harmony Korine film Mr Lonely, about a bunch of celebrity impersonators living together in a French castle. There’s an opening reception with the artist tonight.

Zócalo’s lecture series continues with a conversation and screening director Errol Morris. He’s the Academy Award-winning director of Fog of War who revisits the Abu Ghraib scandal and the photos of torture in his latest film Standard Operating Procedure.

ART CHAT
College students trained as gallery teachers facilitate informal discussions on special exhibitions and the permanent collection in this new program.
