X to Rock the Fonda Tonight, Tomorrow

Xtickets.jpgIf you live in Los Angeles or know anything about punk rock circa 1977 then you know about X. If you don't, Perry Farrell will tell you in the clip on the right. Farrell introduced X last month at SXSW, headliners of Spin's day party at Stubb's BBQ. The place was only two-thirds full after a mass exodus of sweater vests following a short set by Vampire Weekend. But all four original members of X -- now touring in celebration of their 31-year anniversary -- proved once and for all that punk's not dead (or at least that rock and roll is alive and kicking).

John Doe, Exene Cervenka, Billy Zoom, and DJ Bonebrake take over The Music Box @ Fonda as X tonight and tomorrow night. Limited tickets are still available. Check out X performing their seminal homage to LA, "Los Angeles" below (with "New World" tacked on for good measure):

Good to see them all playing together again.

What a wonderful explosive combination of musicial talents.

I know Elise Thompson must know and love them too. Early L.A. punk rocker that she is!
