LAist: Weird Taxi Cab Situation Leads to 2 Deaths

According to the morning news both the women died when the driver wrapped the taxi around a telephone pole. From the looks of the pics there wasn't much left of the rear section of the taxi, I'm not surprized.

Ok, I may be reading this wrong but who died? The title says two deaths and I only count one person in critical condition.

This is as bad as the story from Salinas about two teenage boys getting shot in front of their house as they were talking with their father. What is wrong with people?
