my personal favorite coffee in LA is the Blue something blend they serve @ Susina. I could drink that stuff until I can't hold the cup because of caffeine tremors. i also like dunkin donuts coffee, but for some reason, it doesn't taste quite as good when i brew it @ home.

Pete's is definitely awesome. Not so sure about coffee bean. They don't even grind their beans fresh (for drip brewing.) Not much of a commitment to great coffee if you ask me. Ok, now I'm just being a snob. Looking forward to trying the new roast.

I noticed some subtle changes in my neighborood Starbies this morning, including their proud proclamation that they were brewing the new Pike Place Roast. I'm a "tall-drip-in-a-grande-cup" ("grande-drip-in-a-venti-cup" on the two days a week I'm rolling in there around 6:15 a.m.) and I enjoyed the new roast. I'm glad they're focusing on coffee... I know I should brew at home and save $, but it just fits so much better into the flow of my morning to run in before I hit the road...
