The article about orthorexia mentioned a restaurant in SF, Cafe Gratitude. I recently had the misfortune of dining there as my hippie brother was a server at the location in Berkeley.

The healthy food wasn't what was disconcerting though. It was the look on everyone's face. Especially as they were extolling the virtues of raw vegan food. Strange glazed eyes with giant smiles attached. They spoke of how eating better makes you a better person. It's a strange mindset up there. My crazy brother described his new roommates as thus, "They're really nice people. They do alot of yoga and meditiation, and they eat vegan. You know, you would probably be a better person if you quit smoking and ate healthier, maybe took up yoga."

And they say people in LA are crazy.

There has been a recent onslaught of "-orexia" terms that aim to define behaviors associated with eating disorders. More of a cultural phenomenon than medical term, these "-orexia" words don't diagnose or treat an eating disorder, but they have brought to light issues that may otherwise be overlooked.
