So, maybe I'm thinking too much, but what is the not-so-subtle message of the first comment -- the curt "Who?" -- in response to a post that was not only heartfelt but provided plenty of context. The man's name, his birth and death dates, not to mention the accompanying video all give a person plenty to go on if they really want to know who D. Boon was. We all have access to Wikipedia, right? So, does "Who?" mean, "I've never heard of this person before today so he isn't famous enough for me to care, and the fact that you care is kind of lame?" I don't want to believe that's what it meant, 'cause that would just be horrible manners.

Mike Watt and the Missingmen? I guess that is a tribute to Boon. I moved here in '84 so I missed their early years, but The Minutemen were a great band, there was no way to replace D.Boon.

When I was a wee-punk I went to The Star in Pedro that he and Watt ran. It was all ages and ruled. I saw so many great bands...*le petite sigh* RIP D.
