Hollywood Way Closed for Six Months
If you've noticed northbound Hollywood Way closed in Burbank between Riverside Drive and Alameda Avenue, get used to it -- it's scheduled to reopen in October. Caltrans tells the Burbank Leader that they advise commuters to use Pass and Verdugo Avenues in the interim.
A new onramp is being built on the 134 freeway to help congestion flow on the busy artery near major studios and the Los Angeles city border in the Toluca Lake neighborhood. Caltrans spokeswoman Jeanne Bonfilio told the Leader that “now, people coming east have to turn left and have to cross over traffic to get there. This will eliminate weaving across oncoming traffic to get to freeway. This is a great safety improvement to that entire onramp.”

I live/work right around there and I am SOOOOOO sick of the street work. This onramp better have little robots that come out and drive for you or something because it's hard for me to even remember what it was like before all the construction.
*bangs head against desk*
Pass Ave, between Oak and the 134, is riddled with potholes. Yes, please, may I have that alternate route to get from anywhere in Hollywood, back to my home? :P
Grrrr.....
Disney. Warners. Stop developing in our little town!
at least NBC is leaving for Universal City...
but they are still functioning on the jobs they do!

What kills me is that they took away the left turn lane on Alameda BEFORE they finished their new slick way to turn from Hollywood way. So now, to use the pass entrance, your options are A) go down olive and then make a left down a side street till you're back on Alameda facing the right way or B) go down Hollywood way till you can make a legal U-turn and then come back around. This is NONSENSE. Okay who do I write my seventeen letters about this to? I'm ready to crank up the cranky old man inside me.
The City of Burbank is pretty to hip to people's complaints. They will listen and try to work with the community, but their hands are tied sometimes. They get tons of complaints every day, most about traffic. The Traffic Engineer is Ken Johnson and his email is kjohnson@ci.burbank.ca.us
