Going Green (Line) to LAX

Green Line to LAX or not?One politician won't give up on his mission to get the Green Line moving directly to LAX. And Metro won't give up on saying "no" to that idea.

It's not that Metro is trying to destroy any hopes of public transportation in Los Angeles, it's just the conservative and realistic tones they put out there when it comes future projects and funding. They say they want a connection to LAX and that possibility comes via their proposal for the Crenshaw Line, which is already moving through its initial public process.

Though, people complain on why it wasn't done in the first place and that has its own history, chock full of conspiracy theories. "Most people look at government and they think it's a conspiracy. It's so hard to believe it's as inept as it is," Ruth Galanter told a Daily Breeze reporter. Galanter is a former Los Angeles city councilwoman whose district included the airport. "I used to believe in conspiracies, until I discovered incompetence."

"Most people look at government and they think it's a conspiracy. It's so hard to believe it's as inept as it is.... I used to believe in conspiracies, until I discovered incompetence."

HERE, HERE!

To be honest i think MTA may be right this time... an LAX connection from Expo->Crenshaw line probably makes more sense. It's much more direct from downtoan.

We could do both, though...the extended green line could *also* connect to the people mover, and they could extend the green line up to marina del rey, maybe even all the way up to Expo...

Crenshaw is a good idea, but closing the two mile gap between Green Line and LAX would cost *much* less, and could be done in the near future. Crenshaw is a much bigger project, will cost a lot more, and will take much longer to design an and build. The Green Line extension give us much more bang for the buck.

BTW, Galanter not only discovered incompetence, she *perfected* it!

"I used to believe in conspiracies, until I discovered incompetence."

Wow, that's a quote for the ages.

The One-seat ride on the Crenshaw Line to/from downtown to/from LAX is what makes it so essential from a regional point of view.

Let's hope they build an Air Train people mover from an LAX transit station.
