After discussing the various available Easter cupcakes yesterday, we just had to check them out for ourselves at Yummy Bakery.
The Egg Hunt, Pictured on the left, is a coconut cupcake topped with a coconut buttercream and decorated with the standard green-tinted coconut and jelly beans.
Although the Egg Hunt is cute as a button, I have to admit I much prefer the chocolate with cream cheese coconut topping. You can always buy a bag of jellybeans yourself.
Flavor-wise, your best bet is still the "Old School": A chocolate cupcake with a whipped cream center, topped with chocolate ganache and a squiggle. Really, you can't go wrong with whipped cream and chocolate ganache.
Under the category of sheer adorability, the Bunny Ears cupcake is made with a chocolate cupcake and delicious swathes of pink frosting that will have girlie girls in a swoon. The more than edible, superdelectible candy ears melt easily, so keep a cool bag in the car or crank that AC.
Most of the other cupcakes are all about the decorations on a simple base of vanilla cupcake and buttercream frosting.
One of the best things about Yummy Cupcakes is the great service. They brought out a basket for me to photograph even though it wasn't on the menu that day. When I lamented the fact that I missed the St. Pat's Guinness cupcakes, the friendly counterperson told me that you can special order off the menu as long as you order 2 dozen - Woohooo! Eamonn, guess what your birthday cake will be?
Flavors for Friday, Saturday and Sunday:

Easter Bunny
(They usually offer "Old School" every day)
