TV Junkie: Thursday
It's Thursday, is there an option to watching Lost? Especially since it's going on a bit of a hiatus? So this week we find out more about Michael who has returned to the island, or at least to a boat near the island.
Business Week continues to bash Apple TV because it has "too little content" and doesn't live up to the benchmark set by iTunes. I don't recall iTunes becoming an overnight success - it took a lot of deal-making and hard work to get to its status of ubiquity. Covering the TV market seems to potentially be an even more difficult task, let's give it a bit more time.
The Wall Street Journal, turns its eye towards the money side of advertising in this piece that informs us of several companies that are attempting to provide a comprehensive picture on how online advertising affect brand image over time. Since online advertising is taking up over 20% of ad budgets, "often at the expense of TV", investing in producing the same kind of data capture infrastructure that's been lavished on TV for decades is starting to make sense. The question is, how much of this is really measurable?
9:00pm Lost ABC - You had best watch this since it's going on a bit of a hiatus.
9:00pm Celebrity Apprentice NBC - The Donald cuts the field to 2
10:00pm Make Me a Supermodel BRAVO - A top-notch shutterbug snaps the final four contestants.
10:30pm Li'l Bush COMEDYCENTRAL - Li'l Bush is F@#king McCain

I wish there was a way i could click "recommend" for this post, but specifically unrecommend lil' bush. Good lord that show is awful. Also, it's filled with jokes that weren't funny during the 2000 election.

That News Week article on the Apple TV is a year old. Apple has since improved dramatically on many of the writer's issues.

Yeah Ross, I'm not so sure of that animated effort from Comedy Central - they have the occasional funny item but I don't think they've delivered.

I had high hopes for Lil' Bush. It could've been great, buuuut it's just plain not.
