LAst Night's Action: Lakers Beat Unknown Team in Dallas
Lakers 102, ??? 100 - The Los Angeles Lakers went to Dallas and apparently won, beating some unknown team owned by a guy who doesn't support media progress.
OK, it's not that bad. What was bad? The Laker's second half. After amassing a 25 point lead, they allowed the Mavericks to climb back to within 98-97 with 41 seconds to go. Then it was 101-100 with less than 5 seconds left. Dirk Nowitzki, who had a pair of clutch three pointers moments before, missed to final shot of the game from way downtown -- but did hit the glass when he threw up the prayer.
Sharks 2, Kings 1 - Los Angeles almost mounted a comeback, but in the end the NHL's cellar dweller was no match for the league's hottest team. Backup goalie Brian Boucher came within five minutes of notching his second straight shutout since joining San Jose. The two squads split the season series 3-3, with the road team winning all six games.
Elsewhere - Unlike Mark Cuban, Sports Illustrated gets it. They're opening up their archives online, a move that might make them more viable against Yahoo and ESPN ... If you haven't seen this 197-foot hockey shot, you will ... MLBPA to investigate why Barry Bonds can't get a job. We can tell them for half a much as they would have spent on their investigation ... Watch Phil Jackson turn up the charm.

the Kings were officially eliminated from playoff contention with that loss. (not that we thought they were gonna make it)

I watched the last 3 minutes of the Lakers game. The refs did a terrible job I'm sure Cuban himself would have complained but the calls (or non calls) went in favor of Dallas.
