Good Morning St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick's Day in Los Angeles

It's 8:30 a.m. and by the count on this list, at least five Irish bars are open right now: Brennan's Pub, Casey's Irish Bar and Grille, Clancy's, O'Brien's Irish Pub, Patrick Molloys and Tom Bergin's Tavern. Whoops, make that six (derrr, the morning O'Doul's is already kicking in).

Oh, speaking of that non-alcoholic beer, O'Douls is sponsoring the Pershing Sqaure celebration today starting at 11:00 a.m., which happens to the be the ending location of today's St. Patrick's Day Parade, which starts at 11:30 a.m. The Young Dubliners will be playing at 12:30 p.m. in the park.

And if today you're not into that oh-so-crazy green beer (which people were already drinking on Saturday, the "official" St. Patrick's Day), why not try Irish Coffee? In the name of scientific research, one LAist writer traveled around town finding the best of the best. And despite the disgusting nature of a McDonald's Shamrock Shake, the menu item is still being sold, just ask. And if you're in the kitchen, here's how to cook the perfect corned beef and cabbage.

Guys, have fun today for the St Patricks!

Curious here.

Is Molly Malone's in the Fairfax District still around?

Yups, it's still there, unless it moved like 4 blocks from most people think of as the Fairfax District (meaning the immediate area around Canter's, Largo)

Thanks Zach!

I used to love that place when I lived in Hollywood. Good place to see a band, be a band, or just hang out and drink.
