Secrets of the Trade at the Black Dahlia is described as "a hilarious and heartbreaking look at the complications of mentorship and the painful mysteries of a life in the theatre." It's the story of a young boy who dreams of being on Broadway, and looks to his idol for help and inspiration.

To add some comedy to your afternoon, get over to ACME on La Brea and check out Teacher's Lounge, a staged sitcom penned by former teachers and performed by local funny folk, including Laura House, Avi Liberman, Sue Peahl, Craig Anton, Graham Elwood, Ron Lynch, Pam Ribon, Jeremy Kramer, and Kristen Herman. Today it's Episode 3.

GAY MINGLING EVENT

ART (IN UNUSUAL PLACES)
Graphic design in America hit a new frontier in the WWII era, and some of the finest example of the art form are on view in a show called The Art of Silkscreen: WPA Posters 1935-1943. The unusual place is the museum at Forest Lawn in Glendale, and the show runs until April 13.
