There’s a double feature of slasher films at the New Beverly. In Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, Jason, thought dead, escapes from the morgue and then goes to camp to terrorize teenagers. A serial killer terrorizes an almost-empty college campus in Final Exam. Bring someone to snuggle with.

DEAD PEOPLE *


Body Worlds 3 & The Story of the Heart” opened this morning at the California Science Center for a nearly six-month run. More than 200 human bodies and various parts will be on display after a “plastination” process. Translucent body slices are also in the exhibit. Yes, it sounds creepy, but you’re still just a little bit curious, aren’t you?

THEATRE
Fafalo by the Ziggurat Theatre bows tonight. It’s a “myth-based, comic fantasy” about an unlikely character who’s crowned king of Galliandra. The play uses Balinese masks and huge puppets to create the fantastical atmosphere.

ART
The Pasadena Art Weekend begins with ArtNight. Most of Pasadena’s cultural organizations are open late and free. Shuttles are free, too, and so is the bike tour that will ride from venue to venue.

Paley Fest begins tonight with “Elvis '68 Comeback Special 40th Anniversary” with panelists: Steve Binder (producer/director); Bones Howe (producer) and Priscilla Presley. Hear the behind-the-scenes of the special and clips of The King.
