LAst Night's Action: No Magic Answer for Clips
Magic 110, Clippers 88 - Chris Kaman missed his second straight game with a sore back as Los Angeles got mangled in Miami. Without their big man, the Clips allowed Dwight Howard 22 points and 13 rebounds.
Ducks 4, Canucks 1 - Anaheim is getting hot when it counts, putting away their franchise record eighth straight win at home. Backup goalie Jonas Hiller made 30 saves for the Ducks and even picked up an assist.
Tommy Lasorda - Still crazy (and lovable) after all these years.
Pac-10 Tourney - The Pac-10 men's basketball tournament started yesterday with Cal escaping over Washington 84-81 and Arizona manhandling Oregon State 87-56 (and it wasn't as close as the scoreboard might indicate). Today USC will take on Arizona State and UCLA will take on Cal, plus a couple other games. It's all going down at the Staples Center.
Elsewhere - ESPN's Bill Simmons wrote a moving column on the tragic killing of local prep star Jamiel Shaw ... Bud Selig made over $15 million last year ... A 37-27 record in the NBA East will get you home court advantage in the playoffs, but in the West it won't even get you into the playoffs ... LeBron James likes crazy people.
Today's Action - Kings @ Nashville (5:00pm) and lots of Pac-10 hoops (see above).

They played the Magic in Miami?

Poor, poor Clippers. They were looking to be making a really push to contender status in the Western Conference a few years ago. They had the drive and the talent to do it, too, if it wasn't for that pesky injury bug decimating their roster. I guess Sam Cassell leaving to Boston hasn't helped things much either. Sad.

Cephyn ... Orlando, Miami ... Shaq's played in both, right? That's what I get for writing this at 4am! ;-)
