LAst Night's Action: Double Overtime Wins
#3 UCLA 77, #7 Stanford 67, OT - The Bruins clinched their third consecutive Pac-10 hoops crown with their victory over the Farm. It looked bleak for awhile, but they managed to come from behind. More from Jimmy later this morning.
USC 93, Cal 89, OT - This game was tough for fans to watch. That's because it wasn't televised. And because USC blew a huge lead. It worked out OK in the end. We're tired, so here's some simple coverage that somebody we know did.
Avs 1, Ducks 0 - The formerly hot Ducks were shut out for the second game in a row. Hockey with one goal? Ugh. Three other games last night had seven to ten pucks hit the back of the net.
Kings 2, Senators 0 - Monarchy over democracy, SoCal ice hockey over Canadian, the Kings over anybody? How strange. Erik Ersberg is LA's tenth goalie in the past two seasons, and he made his third start count -- saving 40 shots for his first career shutout.
Elsewhere - Congress is trying to block Bush from going to Olympics, leaving us to wonder fear what else he'll have to do in his dwindling days in office ... Who's the best sports columnist? Well, here's one option ... Babe Ruth wouldn't have fit in today's clubhouses, but he'd still be way better than anybody in the game.
Today's Action - Clippers @ Lakers (7:30pm).
