LAst Night's Action: Kaboom Goes the Kobe

Double his number. Add four. Yeah, that's more like it.Lakers 108, Mavs 104, OT - The Laker's season just keeps getting sweeter. This time, it was all Kobe Bryant -- who managed to score even when triple-teamed. End result? 52 points, including 22 in the 4th quarter and 8 in OT. It was the first game between the refurbished Laker's (Pau Gasol had 17 points and 14 rebounds) and the refurbished Mavs (Jason Kidd had 15 points and 11 assists).

The win keeps Los Angeles even witt Phoenix for first in the West.

Wild 2, Kings 1, OT - In the overtime game nobody cared about (the LA Times apparently doesn't even send reporters on these trips anymore), the Kings fell to Minnesota. Considering the Wild are one of the NHL's top teams, at least LA forced extra time.

Elsewhere - Woman beats man, man still faster .. Patrick Ewing could coach the Knicks ... Harvard hoops allegedly caught breaking the rules ... Spot your favorite NBA players at the Cheesecake Factory ... Red Sox Nation offers free membership to Hank Steinbrenner ... Yes, surfing is a sport.

Today's Action - Clippers @ Philadelphia (7:30pm) ... Ottawa @ Ducks (7:00pm).
