I probably didn't do a good job since I wrote this at around 1 am this morning after watching the game on my old-school DVR, but it's a good thing they have a soft schedule for the rest of the season. It'll give them time to tune up these shortcomings, and when/if Andrew Bynum and Trevor Ariza get healthy they have time to reintegrate. But I am excited.

On the rebounding side, tho, let's not forget that both Bynum and Ariza are still on the mend, AND that the Lakeshow's leading rebounder on the floor, Lamar Odom, was benched for long stretches last night because of some (rather egregiously called IMHO) fouls early in the game. I think once everyone is back in tip-top health and firing on all cylinders, the Lakers will absolutely be the team to beat in the West.

ha! Funny on the Dostoevsky. I'm happy Portland is something to be reckoned with, even if they lose. I feel I have allegiance to them just because I like the city's public transit and forward thinking. So Flea is blogging for the NBA and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the LA Times? I just like the contrast.
