Celtics 104, Clippers 76 - The NBA's top team won last night in the Staples Center, and it wasn't the Lakers.
Boston, now an NBA-best 43-12, was just too much for the Clippers. Chris Kaman sat out once again, dropping LA's record to 1-6 without the big man in their lineup. Sam Cassell was also injured and watched from the bench.
Kevin Garnett, one of five Celtics to hit double digits, was recently named by his fellow NBA All Stars as the person they'd most like to see win a championship ring (other than themselves, of course). The only player who abstained from voting was Kobe Bryant, who declared, "If it ain't us, I don't care."
(Don't worry, faithful LAist fans ... the Lakers are the best team in the NBA, and their record will show it soon enough.)
Must See TV - Shame on the YouTube poster who disabled embedding for this gem from the 1986 Dodgers. It's just too ridiculous.
Elsewhere - Boston went 2-3 in the West, so is the conference just too good? ... Is South Florida just too bad? (Or just the opposite of Boston?) ... Is a nine year old grunting just too loud? ... Is Kelvin Sampson just too gung-ho?
