Liquid Kitty's Winter Punk Rock BBQ Reunites Sin34

Liquid Kitty's annual punk rock BBQs have been such a success, this Sunday they are hosting a special Winter BBQ. What better to chase away the rain than with colorful drinks and hard-core thrash? Some dogs on the grill? Done! And all for the low, low, price of FREE.

Liquid Kitty's BBQs are famous for reuniting long-lost 80s classics and this one is no exception.

This year is marked by the return of old-school locals, Sin 34. The band broke up in 1984, and now, 23 years later, they are back and ready to thrash the house.

Formed in Los Angeles in 1981 by teenaged punk fans; singer Julie Lanfeld, drummer Dave Markey, and bassist Phil Newman went through a few guitarists before finding permanence in Mike Glass in the fall of ’81. [Sin34] released its first single...and this lead to many a gig with the likes of the Circle Jerks, Dead Kennedys, The Misfits, The Minutemen, & Bad Religion. In 1983 the band recorded and released their one and only album “Do You Feel Safe” (Spinhead).

The day starts out early with Euge from the Coast at 1:30pm. "The kid who hated buses and old people in The Decline of Western Civilization" is all grown up (and believe me, he can still rock out til the sun comes up). Next up is Saccharine Trust alumni Bobby Ho's Hermosa-based hardcore Landfill - South Bay represent!,

Fatso Jetson, with Mario and Larry Lalli and Vince Meghrouni is decribed thusly,"weirdness lies smoldering in the mind-altering heat of the Californian desert - and that weirdness makes possible the unrelenting heavy acid/punk/stoner rock of Fatso Jetson."

Next on the bill are bands headed by two more Saccharine Trust alumni. The Jack Brewer Reunion Band brings some heavy, rhythmic anthemic rock, followed by Joe Baiza's Congress of, with some serious punk-jazz fusion.

So grab a flannel, throw on that leather jacket and get ready to rock away the winter blues!
