Get Out Yer Corkscrew, It's Open That Bottle Night
Tonight is the night to break out that special bottle of vino and head over to one of more than 20 LA-area restaurants that are obliterating the corkage fee in honor of "Open That Bottle Night."
The foodie-minded folks over at EaterLA asked around and came up with a list of dining spots who are willing to forgo their usual $20-$35 fee for one night only so that diners could have a special meal to go with their special bottle without the extra coinage for corkage.
Participating restaurants for tonight's special include Blue on Blue, Pacific Dining Car, Noe at the Omni, Dolce Enoteca, Ketchup, Bella, Nine Thirty at the W, and several more.
Most of the places ask that you limit yourselves to two bottles, and no magnums. As always, give your selected restaurant a ring before heading over with your best burgundy to make sure they're participating, and to make a reservation.

I totally forgot about this. I did drink a lot of wine at the baby shower yesterday. I'll just open the Shiraz Sparkling for lunch today.

Ack! I totally forgot about this too!!!! I was going to do a whole wine novice thing on a very yummy Barolo.
Perhaps I must incur the corkage fee anyway to make the point...

i suppose one can always play the home game version of this any time, especially if they are adventurous in the kitchen (and use perhaps a famous eatery's cookbook?) or aren't too shamed to bring home doggy bags from a higher-end restaurant.
