Cate Blanchett should definitely win best supporting for I'm Not There. As for lead, I enjoy Ellen Page's character but it's not as deserving as Marion Cotillard's.

The Juno nomination is a joke. Marion Cotillard's performance was the most powerful performance I have seen last year. Julie Christie's performance in Away From Her was deserving of a nomination, but not deserving of a win. Go Mation Cotillard!!!

Hells ya, Ross. The night Crash swept the Oscars was nearly as depressing for me as the 2004 Presidential election, in a "this is my country?"-type way. Lots of quality this year, even with the difference in opinions that Juno generates.

ellen page? really? i mean shes good and all...but...i can think of 4 other actresses on that list nominated that probably deserve it more (hint:there are only 4 other actresses listed)...

Personally, I'm just glad there's no chance of a Dances with Wolf or Crash level of Oscar Bullshit. I'm happy with all 5 best picture nominees, even if I think juno is the least of the lot.

As much as I liked Juno, PLEASE LORD JESUS don't let it steal an award away from its superior competition. And that means you, too, Diablo Cody. The Savages totally deserves to win for original screenplay, but I can live with a Michael Clayton victory.
