43 Injuries & 1 Death on LA Public Transit in 2008

Averaging more than one incident a week so far in 2008, there have been nine incidents between people/cars, or in one case, a fire hydrant, and mainly Metro busses, except for one incident involving a Big Blue Bus, Santa Monica's transit agency and another with an unknown transit agency at this time.

According to Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) records, there have been a total of forty-three injuries, ranging from minor to critical (some released at the scene), and one death. In none of these cases, has the fault to these incidents been declared (as far as we know), but here at LAist, where we are extremely pro public transit and still will continue to be so, we've noticed an unusual increase in LAFD medical responses to incidents mostly including busses.

The above interactive Google Map shows all the incidents within the city limits of Los Angeles with injury numbers and links to further information.
