RocknRollDating.com: Find Love Through the Love of Music

Rocknrolldating.comRocknRollDating.com is the creation of Eagle Rock resident and music industry veteran, Daniel House. He has created the free online dating site with music as the coming-together concept. Put in your favorite bands and concerts, your preferred genres and the normal dating profile stats such as heights, sex, etc. and go find your mate based on the tunes you share in common. Or maybe you'll find someone who will let you experience new music.

Tonight, RocknRollDating has its launch party at The Short Stop in Echo Park. It's open to the public and starts at 8 p.m. (even before that, Vegan Happy Hour starts at 5 p.m. for you veggie lovers). A soul music DJ will start at 10 p.m.

Originally from Seattle, House has been working in music industry for 20 years. He was the founder and owner of the record label C/Z which put out the record for the Melvins, Built to Spill and one of the first Nirvana songs ("Mexican Seafood") on a 7-inch compilation back in 1989. In fact, the bass player has even played with Nirvana before. Since moving to Los Angeles four years ago, he continues to work in the music business and was behind the development of DownloadPunk.com.

In March, RocknRollDating will have a presence at the SXSW Conference and expect to see more branding of the website throughout Los Angeles. But it all begins tonight at The Short Stop: music, love and peace out.

Is there a dating website for people who hate people?

No, so, ok - I found this idea pretty interesting, and I went to go check it out, did a cursory sign-up, and guess what? you can't search by BAND!! huh? hahaha, wasn't that the POINT? I must be missing something. There's a place where you can click on 'popular' bands, but if I wanted someone interested in popular bands, would I really need a music-related website to hook me up? Wouldn't I just go to a bar? Or Match.com?
