TV Junkie: Wednesday

Idol-heads and Runway-heads have a lot to celebrate tonight and I'll be damned, look at how busy the schedule is in the 10:00-11:00pm time frame. Since I don't think any of the options are fantastic is it better to have a little or a lot of mediocrity to choose from?

In other news, yeah the writer's strike is over, and SNL is finally heading back into production with it's first show scheduled for Feb. 23rd. I went to an SNL dress-rehearsal last year - check it.

7:15pm Roman Holiday TCM - (1953) Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn star in this somewhat sappy sojourn in Rome, but if you've ever been in Rome, or really want to go there, it's a pleasure to watch.

8:00pm American Idol FOX - The Confederacy of Dunces has "narrowed" it down to 24 "finalists".

9:00pm African American Lives 2 PBS/KCET - Morgan Freeman learns about his great-great-grandmother's slavery experience.

9:30pm Unbeatable Banzuke G4 - Crazy Japanese gymnast combatants duke it out in "Bamboo Derby 2'' and "Sponge Bridge.''

10:00pm Head Case STARZ - (clip above) Good Charlotte's Joel Madden pays a visit to the couch and talks about his oral fixation.

10:00pm Smash Lab: High Rise Escape DISCOVERY - The team tries to figure out how to reduce fire-related deaths in tall buildings. Anyone else like this show? I think it's pretty good.

10:00pm Project Runway BRAVO - We're down to 5 designers with one last challenge before the Fashion Week competition.

10:30pm Hollywood Residential STARZ - Prankster Jamie Kennedy gets a visit from the remodeling crew.

10:30pm Reno 911 COMEDYCENTRAL - New one tonight!
