Map: How LA Voted in the Democratic Primary by District

Last week we created a map showing primary election results by county in California and today we'll break it down further.

Below is a map with a headshot of the winning candidate in the center (more or less) of each district. Click on each placemarker to see that district's results.

Hillary Clinton beat Barack Obama by a similar margin in LA County as she did in the state, and by significantly greater margins in districts with large Latino populations. Barack Obama won only three of the 18 districts within LA County -- all by an average of nearly 15 percentage points -- showing significant support in three large districts in central and South LA. In fact, of the 18 districts in LA County, only 1 was decided by less than 5 percentage points: Clinton 50-47 in District 30 (Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Malibu, Calabasas and points west).

So that was Barack walking down Fairfax today. hm

Clinton clearly took a wide swath of the Latino pop. in L.A. and CA., but the tide may be turning. In his Virgina primary win Tuesday, Obama took 55% of the Latino vote there.

Whether or not that particular community sticks with Obama remains to be seen, but after a momentous week(end) of primary and caucus wins, his appeal to voters (of any ethnicity) and chances of beating McCain, may be hard to deny.

heheh @thecoloured -- yeah, he appeared to be headed to Canter's according to the map.

Jeremy, it is interesting how the media continues to discuss Clinton's relationship with Latinos in CA as being markedly different than her relationship with Latinos elsewhere. Also, I guess by now Obama's Kennedy endorsements have had time to resonate through the community.

wow that makes me proud of living in the 35th. GO BARACK... pinches latinos ignorantes!
