CELEBRATE THE YEAR OF THE RAT
The annual Lunar New Year Festival continues today in Chinatown. Catch pan- Asian entertainers including Chinese acrobats, as well as Thai dancers and Taiko drummers. Food, games, children’s activities, and more will also be on tap during the free festival.

FUNDRAISER BASH! OPEN BAR!
The "Save Nico" Sunday Day Fundraiser Bash goes on all afternoon today at Maude Carrin, and has bands, DJs, and cocktails, all for a $5 entry fee. What are we saving Nico from, exactly? Well, according to the poster, from "having to work for IKEA in Sweden." Okey dokey. Entertainment slated for the event includes Bloodcat Love, Black Palms, Ana Dim Mak, Dirty Dave, and Nicolas, with others TBA.

FILM
Two pieces of Alan J. Pakula's "paranoia trilogy" are on a double bill tonight at the Aero in Santa Monica. See All the President's Men (1976) and The Parallax View (1974), and revel in politics, scandal, intrigue, and corporate greed. Sounds like a trip to present-day DC, no?

FESTIVAL
The Third Annual Afro-Latino Festival is set to liven up the Museum of Latin American Art this afternoon down in Long Beach. This one-of-a-kind tribute to the African Heritage in Latin America will include educational workshops and live performances, featuring a variety of Afro-Mestizo artistic genres such as salsa from the Caribbean, samba in Brazil, negroide in Peru and the original African drums.

ANIME!
Celebrate Anime Day on the Plaza (and the closing of Murakami's exhibit tomorrow!) with this collaboration event between MOCA and the Japanese American National Museum featuring special screenings, discussions, and activities around the art form that has inspired the work of artists like Takashi Murakami. The event also aligns with their exhibition Giant Robot Biennale: 50 Issues

CLASSICAL
The Best of Mexico and the USA is a performance by the Santa Cecilia Orchestra (Sonia Marie De Leon de Vega, director) performing Moncayo's Huapango, Chavez's Sinfonia India, Copland's Appalachian Spring, and Barber's Violin Concerto, with soloist Deborah Buck.
